BOCK expands with new location in Mexico
The BOCK Group is growing with a new subsidiary in Santa Catarina in the Mexican state of Nuevo León. At the end of last year, BOCK founded a joint venture as majority shareholder.
The new plant in Mexico with a total area of 2,500 m² is a strategic step to grow in the North American and Latin American market and an opportunity for the company to continue to position itself internationally. A positive side effect is the resulting proximity to BOCK's major customers who produce in Mexico or plan to do so in the future, which also results in labor cost and logistics advantages. Equipped with state-of-the-art technology and machinery, production was able to begin immediately after the company was founded. The machines purchased already meet the required production capacities of the owner-managed family business.
At the new site, BOCK has 17 plastic injection molding machines with a closing force of 85 up to 900 tons. This machinery covers the entire range of component sizes required by the office furniture industry. In addition, assembly activities are among the services offered in the company's portfolio.
In recent months, the size of production has already doubled due to the relocation of the required tools from the BOCK Group site in North America, and the number of employees is increasing. The production site offers the opportunity for further expansion if required. For example, the company plans to implement integral foam processing at the new site in the future in order to be able to offer customers more benefit directly on site.
With this step, the manufacturer of components for the office chair, lounge furniture and automotive industry is now represented worldwide with seven locations in five countries and will continue to be able to serve its customers locally and flexibly in the future.
