BOCK North America is taking its long-standing partnership with Herman Miller to new heights: With the help of targeted optimizations in production, BOCK North America has achieved Gold Supplier status in 2020, making it one of the TOP suppliers to the internationally renowned furniture manufacturer. For quality assurance, Herman Miller has set up close-meshed processes from the automotive environment, which intensify the cooperation with suppliers in the context of regular audits. Through this intensive exchange, BOCK North America was able to further improve quality and delivery performance and thus convince Herman Miller in the long term.
The origins of the Herman Miller furniture company date back to the 1920s, when D.J. De Pree bought the Michigan Star Furniture Company in 1923 and named it after his father-in-law, Herman Miller - who was a high-integrity West Michigan businessman.
By the mid-20th century, the Herman Miller name was already synonymous with "modern" furniture. Working with legendary designers of the time, the company was able to produce pieces of furniture that became classics of industrial design.
Today, Herman Miller is known not only for its classic pieces, but also as an innovator in interior office design and for its modern home designs. Headquartered in Zeeland, Michigan, the publicly traded company has manufacturing facilities in the U.S., China and the U.K. and works with sales offices, distributors, licensees and customers in more than 100 countries.
We are very pleased about this award and look forward to further successful cooperation.
