In small groups, 50 young people pass through the Challenge course and gain interesting insights into the BOCK training professions. The participants learn about manufacturing processes, build their own circuits and demonstrate their skills at many other stations. Finally, company owner Hermann Bock and Postbauer-Hengs 2nd mayor Hans Pröpster will honour the winners and share valuable tips on choosing an apprenticeship with them.
Postbauer-Heng, 21st October 2019 – 50 young people from the region will start the competition at the annual AZUBI CHALLENGE. In the course of the morning, they will learn about apprenticeships at eight stations and get to know the company in a playful way. The event has been taking place since 2014 and offers young people valuable insights for their choice of a suitable training occupation. BOCK employees will be on hand to provide them with expert knowledge and answer their questions.
Tasks within the training
What makes this competition special is that BOCK trainees help plan, design and carry it out. Leonie, for example, is in the third year of her apprenticeship as an industrial clerk and explains the tasks and requirements for the training departments purchasing, accounting and the secretariat in mould making. Katharina leads a game in which the young people assign technical terms to the right departments. With three self-made videos, they support the participants in finding solutions.
Great experiences in production
The young people also compete in exciting competitions in production and are now familiar with various work processes in the manufacture of office chairs and aluminium die-cast parts for the automotive industry. They independently steer a crane over various obstacles and learn about different types of welding seams. In addition, after this day the Challenge participants know which skills and qualifications they should bring with them for the respective apprenticeships at BOCK. At the end of the event, the winners will receive presents and each participant will receive a fully-packed goodie bag.
